Diaper Bag Checklist for New Moms

Carrying a diaper bag is a necessity if you are a parent on the go. The baby diaper takes up very little space, however it is the bottles, wipes, toys, change of clothing etc. that can be a big hassle to lug around all day. This bag will become one of your most important tools and when stocked correctly can help you survive any likely mishap! Although what you’ll need to carry will depend on the age of your baby and the climate you live in, we’ve compiled a few tips and suggestions to help you be prepared for almost anything! I t’s time to start filling it with all the essentials!

New Baby Essentials

  • Spare Diapers (at least 3 or 4)
  • Wipes (a box or a pack)
  • Plastic bags for used diapers
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes
  • 1-2 changes of clothes for baby
  • Baby coat or sweater
  • Pacifier (if using)
  • Bottles/breast milk/formula
  • Extra formula (if using)
  • Ice pack to keep milk chilled
  • Burp cloth
  • Bib
  • Spare socks (somehow they always seem to come off)
  • Receiving blanket
  • Baby carrier or baby sling

New Mom Essentials

  • Wallet
  • Cell phone
  • Drinking Water
  • Tissues
  • Breast Pads
  • Spare clean shirt
  • Sunscreen
  • Nursing cover (some baby carriers can also be used as a nursing cover)

Toddler Essentials

  • Spill proof sippy cup or bottled water
  • Bib
  • Hat in winter
  • Sunscreen (over 6 months old)
  • Tissues
  • Healthy Snacks
  • Small toy

As you gain experience you'll soon learn which items you can leave at home and which items you just can not leave the house without!
